Gemini hitches a ride on CarPlay

🔥 What happened Google is rolling out Gemini inside Google Maps for Apple CarPlay, starting in the US with the rest of the world following in the coming weeks. Tap the Gemini star icon and the assistant takes multi-step, open-ended commands. 💡 Why it matters Until now Gemini in the car was an Android Auto exclusive. Now Google slips into Apple's ecosystem — but only inside Maps, not system-wide. For engineers, that means the assistant is a navigation feature, not a platform play. ⚡ Our take Google is shipping AI as a Trojan horse into Apple's garden — clever, but half-hearted. Anyone wanting cross-app Gemini stays locked out.
